Reserving one today!!!
Hello all!
I am putting my reservation down on a passion coupe today!!
Can't wait to putz around in a smart, fortunatley I'll have something to take my mind off the wait.
I leave for Air Force basic training on May 12th, so the wait will be eaten by several months of training. I will have computer access after 2 months, so I can do the finalization of my vehicle build while I am in Little rock, or at Shephard AFB, or wherever I may be when they send the Config e-mail.
Can't wait to meet fellow MN Smart owners, maybe I'll get a chance to meet some of ya before I head off.

Congratulations on you reservations. If you weren't training I'd have suggested a orphan.

Dear Thompsolonian,
Congrats on the downpayment! Hope your wait won't be as long as the 308 days that I waited for mine but let me be the first to tell you that getting exactly what you want is well worth the wait. Although I'm not from MN, I am form the land of SAFB. Will you be doing your basic in Lackland? Have a very good friend of mine going in June from KS and if all goes well my son will also be going soon. If your in the TX area just drop a line and I'll let you take a look at the Metallic Grey Cabrio... Congrats on your choice of military service and Thanks for serving our great country. Take Care and enjoy being a part of a great group of "Smarties"!

Thanks!!
All Air Force enlisted personnel are required to do basic through Lackland AFB, it is the only entry point for the Air Force. I will be leaving Minnesota on May 12th, and after roughly 8 weeks I will finish Basic. I then have 5-6 months of AIT for my particular job, where I will learn the c-130 inside and out, and learn not only how to fix it, but to be sure she is flight worthy as well. I will then be returned to Minnesota, where I will work at the 934th Airlift wing as a Crew Chief!
Gotta love the reserves, got to pick my job out of a list of openings.

Congrats to you on your smart buy and your smart decision. I am retired from the Air Force. From your description, you are going to be a crew chief on C-130s. For a time, I was a Flight Engineer on C-130s. I LOVED that airplane. I had a blast. Hope you do to.
