Snow Tires Back on!

Well its been snowing already up here in Duluth and I figured to better put the snows back on for another season.

If you looking for a place to swap the tires on he rims and want to vacation at the same time drive to Duluth, they only charge $10 a wheel versus $25 in the twin cities!

It took me awhile though, over 2 hours, they had a new guy on the staff that was getting trained in. One of my wheels got scuffed, but not that noticeable unless your like me and looking for imperfections But in the long run its just one of many damages these wheels have been through with all of that winter salt.

Do they move the tmps, too?

I think I'll get mine done 2nd week of November - to give me time to try them out before my TG trip.

I had to put mine on last week - freak snow storm here and my smarter half wouldn't let me go out without them.

Yes, they moved the TPMS. I told them not to do anything but to leave it with the wheels.

With the reset button in the car it saves you $20. Just hold it down until it stops to blink and the system should reboot.

Got about 3 inches of wet sticky stuff so far. Made for a nice drive back from Bloomington.. Had to get that 10K checkup done. Those guys (and gals) are a blast to talk to at the dealership!! I did skip the car wash as it was a bit inclimate outside. Hit snow most of the drive back. It took an extra 1/2 hour, a few cars in the ditch... good to know that blinking ! light works....

Do we need to use snow tires?
I use all season radials on all my other vehicles so I would expect the same on the smart.

You don't need too, but it drastically improves the winter performance of the car. IMO.

I am skipping the official 20K checkup, its not much different than the 10K with a few different things. I am going to go on a as need basis from this point on. Plus I learned the easy way to reset the maintenance indicator...so no worries.

(ex. Brake fluid looks good at 18K)
