......and the 'end of the world'?

As long as I'm in my smart, I'll feel safe.

The original post in the paper ASSUMED it was in response to the Swine Flue situation. The person could be going through a medical treatment that supressed their immune system which would make them susceptable to any air borne germs that could make a simple cold life threatening.

Sounds like someone wanting their 15 min of fame and they picked to use a comment that showed their ignorance and lack of judgment.

Good point! It could have been someone receiving chemotherapy for cancer treatment.

Personally, the best defense is just not going to Mexico for one if you can avoid it, since it is the main location. And don't go where there are reported cases. Stay away from sick ppl. Only reason you would wear the mask would be like when SARS came out. It was very high in the asian population, so ppl had to go about business as usual, so they just put mask on for added protection. It keeps spittle out but if the virus actually gets on you, you could catch it no matter what. So be aware of your suroundings is all.

Thank You, there are some people who just don't understand that. But I will agree that there are many opinions that are not based on nothing. People do too much assuming and listen too much to what the media tells them to think. I actually heard that there are people getting rid of pork because they don't want to get the flu.

Well I'd figure soon or later, the topic will have a life of its own. But IMHO, I think this Swine Flu thing is wayyyy out of control. Is there an issue? Yes. But so is the regular flu. So is malaria. So is TB. Why aren't we hearing from the other that are causing hundreds of not thousands of deaths worldwide?

So why the big deal with this one? Well again IMHO, it's just good old scare tactics. I would NOT be shocked if the truth reveals this was bio-terrorism created to create massive hysteria (remember Anthrax and the origin of it during the massive scare in the weeks after 9/11? It didn't come from Bin Laden or Al Qaeda).

What happens when people get scared? You get massive government intervention. You get massive spending. You have someone making big money. You get martial law. You lose more civil liberties (quarantines, lock downs, and arrests).

Am I being paranoid? Maybe. I've just seen this way too many time that I started asking questions. Now, everytime I see this, I ask questions.
