Winter Tires

So who here is planning or has gotten winter tires for their smart?

I myself, am planning on getting the Pirelli's and swapping them with the Conti's.

Did that and they (Pirellis) worked fine in our freak snow storm a couple weeks ago.

Did you put the Pirellis all the way around, or just the back? I'm trying to figure out what I'm going to do this winter.

I am getting all four. I believe everyone who has gotten the tires has done all four.

Yes, all four - half and half is just asking for trouble. BTW, in the short and unhappy drive on the Pirellis (see other thread) I noticed a lot of "squirm" in the front tires; I'm guessing that's due to deeper tread and perhaps softer rubber compound.

I have the Pirellis on all fours and haven't noticed any squirm or other change in handling. Mileage too is the same as with the stock Contis.

I am going to get the Blizzak's since the Pirelli's are out of stock. I am getting 145's on the front and 175's on the back...we'll see how well they perform!

Jeff, just ensure you stick with the stock 175/55s at the rear!
