I have been asked to start a seperate thread on this so here it goes:

I am pleased to announce that smart center Indianapolis and smarties of Indiana will be hosting the 2nd annual smarts at IMS event on May 26th. Planning is still in the early stages, but we are hoping to build on the success of last years event and make this bigger and better. Last year we had 127 smarts show for this event, We would love to have 150 (or more) this year.

If you would like to participate in this years festivities, please PM myself or contact Walter at scI at 317-580-6801. I know a few of you have already PM'd me from the other thread, and I have your names on the roster already.

OK, I have couple of updates. For something fun, we will be having two contests the day of the event. There will be a "best dressed smart" vote, and a "Grand Marshall" vote as well. These two cars will be leading the caravan to the race track. Also, negotiations are currently under way for hotel rooms in the area for those driving a fair distance that want to spend the night. As details are worked out, I will post additional info.

Semi-threadjack...

The photos taken by the photographers last year never surfaced. I had hoped to have/buy a couple photos they took of my wife and I. Anyone know anything about what happened?

Regardless, if hired photogs are present again at this year's event, hopefully the photos will be available afterwards.

I think that may have BigPandas wife that took the pictures and made the cd/dvds......Anyone? Anyone?

That CD was a compilation of photos taken by a lot of people at the event. I'm talking to Walter about the professional photos now, and will update when I have info.

I know the ones taken at the track were available online, because I bought one. But I think that was a different group.

Yes, there was a different pro at the track taking photos and I did buy one of those. But, there were a couple 'professional' event photogs on the roof of the scIndy building taking photos of the crowd and taking pictures of people at the track. This was separate from the photo CD that Big Panda's wife put together made from attendee photos.

The photos by those two dedicated event photographers never showed up which was too bad, because I bet they had some good shots.
