Brabus 'Test Drive'.....

Just as I was cleaning up after changing my oil in MY smart, up my drive comes a Silver Brabus with 'jet' at the controls. He stopped by so I could see his shiny new toy...in person. NICE!

He offered a 'test drive' and being the kind and considerate person I am, I accepted. I certainly didn't want to hurt his feelings! He let me drive it for a few miles and well, it handles and rides SOOOO MUCH BETTER than my smart. Now I can't wait to get my larger wheels/tires on the front!

Thanks 'jet' for the test drive and your visit. We're really glad you stopped by. As for the rest of you that HAVEN'T driven a Brabus......YOU GOTTA DO IT!!!

Sooo, let me get this straight. He was driving his wife's car? OR did he do the right thing and put her in that much more visibly safe white paneled car of his and take a step down to the Brabus all in the name of his beloved's well being?

...OK...as I pulled up the driveway bigpanda was in a hurry to hide the 3 qts of Amsoil oil he just put in his smart..he will not agree to the miserly $5 for my silence so I'm letting the cat out of the bag...when he saw the silver Brabus he proceeded to put me in a head lock and there was nothing I could do but to hand him the keys...as I tried to get some air he took off down the road and I believe he pulled fuse 11 'cause I could hear the tires screech as he over rev the still in break in period engine...
...word of caution to you all...if you see bigpanda and you're driving a new car LOCK the doors and get away as fast as you can....

Oh, btw.....Jet came by on Monday evening to show off his new smart, but we didn't know he was here. Apparently he's not tall enough to reach the DOOR BELL!

From what he told me (and after the next post, I'm not so sure I believe anything he says now!), if he wants to drive the Brabus, then he has to make sure it's the LAST one in the garage, since his Passion and Brabus are parked 'nose to nose' on one side of the garage......last one IN, first one OUT in the morning.

..yes I was there Monday evening..and I did reached and pressed the door bell with no answer...as I was walking back to my car and through the window I saw what seem to be candles and empty bottles of Indiana wine...the TV was on 'cause I could hear the announcer said The Cubs Loose Again...at that time I hear a voice saying "faster-faster"....then the same voice said harder-harder....and a man voice replied "I can do that "...and all of the sudden I hear "deeper-deeper" and after a short pause the man voice said "I CAN'T DO THAT"...
it was at that moment when I got in my new ride and went cruising...and all of this happened in about 30 seconds....

It just all depends on how you look at some things...

Judy Wallman, a professional genealogy researcher in southern California , was doing some personal work on her own family tree. She discovered that Congressman Harry Reid's great-great uncle, Remus Reid, was hanged for horse stealing and train robbery in Montana in 1889. Both Judy and Harry Reid share this common ancestor.

The only known photograph of Remus shows him standing on the gallows in Montana territory: on the back of the picture Judy obtained during her research is this inscription: 'Remus Reid, horse thief, sent to Montana Territorial Prison 1885, escaped 1887, robbed the Montana Flyer six times. Caught by Pinkerton detectives, convicted and hanged in 1889.'

So Judy recently e-mailed Congressman Harry Reid for information about their great-great uncle.


Believe it or not, Harry Reid's staff sent back the following biographical sketch for her genealogy research:
"Remus Reid was a famous cowboy in the Montana Territory . His business empire grew to include acquisition of valuable equestrian assets and intimate dealings with the Montana railroad. Beginning in 1883, he devoted several years of his life to government service, finally taking leave to resume his dealings with the railroad. In 1887, he was a key player in a vital investigation run by the renowned Pinkerton Detective Agency. In 1889, Remus passed away during an important civic function held in his honor when the platform upon which he was standing collapsed."
