Sorry to get back to you guys so late, but it's been a month and the last word from SCI was that Linda and Walter hadn't discussed doing a food drive for this year.
Therefore, I'm taking it upon myself to do this, but I need some suggestions....AND FAST, on where and when to have drop off sites for our donations.
My thought was that maybe next Saturday, the 21st, would be best. Only problem is that many of us will be busy shopping still. This is why I'm only suggesting a 'drop off' and not necessarily a 'meet' or 'event', as it would be too difficult to get many of us together a one time.
We would be willing to make our home a drop-site for donations if that works "OK" with you. We live on the northside of Indy, in the St Vincent Hospital area. Just remember, that it is only for
NON-PERISHABLE food items and of course, if you want to make a
'donation',
you can make your check out to Gleaners Food Bank.
Please let me know your thoughts, as we are running out of time now. There are sooooo many people out there that rely on Gleaners Food Bank, year in and year out, and this year with so many unemployed, I'm sure they will be overwhelmed with needs.
PLEASE, lets do OUR part and help out those of us less fortunate.
