How Smart Car Club(s) have benefitted you?

I am looking for testimonials of how being a member of SIN, SCOA, or other Smart Car clubs have benefitted you. This includes
1. Getting help and/or information about mods, issues, or repairs to your car
2. Getting assistance with transportation or other assistance.
3. Friendships
4. Maybe it helps you to be more talkative or confident.
5. Or it could help you to break bad habits

hey shadow...to me the best part of SCOA and SIN has been the new friends I've made through out the last two years from all the outings that we have shared...the Dells...Lake Geneva...the Dragon Run...INDY 500...pizza outings...Orlando...the cars are secondary to the friendship by far...
...SCOA has helped everybody that has come up with a question...from the simple things as "where's my spare" to long in depth discussion of turbos, electronics and "roof crazing"..LOL...
The modification section in here is extensive and well documented for anybody that wants to tackle a light mod to interior painting...
...so...for a car social network you can't beat this place...

Getting my car, joining SCOA, and becoming president of SIN (I have since resigned) has helped me on four of five subtopics.

Repairs-When my car broke down and I had to get my interlock switch replaced, I spoke with a few people who have had similar issues but different resolutions. Also, if it hadn't been for the discussion about roof crazing, I wouldn't have even checked mine for it. I never open my sun shade because I burn so easily!

Assistance-When my car broke down, I sent out a message asking for help to all of my fellow SIN members. Almost everyone said they wished they could, but unfortunately couldn't because of work or other engagements. One member (magilly00) was already headed that way so he came and got me and took me to my car. Although I offered, he wouldn't accept anything for helping me.

Friendships-WOW! I have made so many amazing friends through these clubs. There are so many kind and caring souls throughout the smart community, it is really incredible. I never knew that buying a car would change my life in such a huge way.

Confidence-I have a severe anxiety disorder, agoraphobia. It keeps me from going in public alone. Even going to dinner with friends is sometimes very challenging. Attending events has helped me broaden my horizons and form friendships that make me feel more confident about going out alone. I usually don't leave my car between home and the event meet place, but being able to leave the house without someone with me is a HUGE step.
