Also, the ABS will not help you once the tires lose traction - slid through a yellow light at one intersection (my fault, going too fast for conditions.) So, let's be careful out there!
No snow tires. Car can be scary. Manual shift was the only way to go and the butt wants to keep coming around.

OK, all you mid-westerners, go on out and take a pic of your smart in the snow and post em! It must be getting dark soon, so you can take them in the morning. We had only about an inch or so this morning, but I still got a pic.

And stay warm and stay safe!

Don't know about everyone else, but my normal 45-50 minute drive home took me 2 1/2 HOURS! The wife and I decided since it was the first time I drove our smart to work and back, that because of the weather I should stay off the interstate coming home and drive from Greenwood to the St Vincent area. BAD MOVE! Well, more like 'no' move. Traffic downtown was at a standstill. It wasn't until I got far north on Meridian that it thinned out and moved at 30 mph. Probably killed my gas mileage on my first tank, but Lil Panda just plugged through it all. It was still fun.

Well, until a southbound F150 swerved to miss a silver SUV pulling out in front of him, hitting the Cadillac HEAD ON directly in front of me! But the smarts ABS brakes and traction control did it's job and I came to a quick, safe stop, got out to make sure all was well, and then squeezed behind the truck and the stopped traffic to continue home.

Can't wait to see what TOMORROW brings........

Drove mine in 'auto' all the way home and yes, the 'butt' wants to come around but the traction control always caught itself and straightened right up.

I think the smart is going to take a break today. Dunno if I want to brave the 8 inches of snow that now rest in my immediate uphill driveway. That's what I have the Subaru for, right? Bet I could probably get out, though. Just not sure I want to mess with the challenge. Need to make sure I'm at the office in time to shovel the walks.

Had about an inch when I left for work this am, will get another before it stops. I'm feeling for you all down south. Would not like to be in Kentucky today.

Just heard on the local TV that this snow is now in the "Top Ten" of all-time snow falls in Central Indiana. WOW!

My smart took a break today as well. Wasn't driving to Greenwood from Indy's northside today. I shoveled about half my driveway and wore myself out. Not worth a heart attack, know what I mean?

Even if I still had my Jeep, I wouldn't be out in THIS stuff......
