I replied to the email, but haven't received any confirmation on my reservation.

Anyone else (seems only a few folks are actually on this forum) get a confirmation reply to their reservation email? Reason I ask is that SCI has been known to ignore emails of mine in the past. I don't want to show up over there and find out that I'm SOL.

So the few of you who DID get emails and replied to them in the positive, did you get a confirmation, a reply at all? Not that I'm nervous about it... I'm sure if I show up with a fortwo, I'm in. But still...

I did not recieve a reply, I just got off the phone with Max, he is not replying to RSVP's, said he would be sending out A LOT of replies if he did. If you responded you are on the list, at least I am.

I sent an email to Max saying that I could not go. Max wrote back that he was sorry that I could not make it. Matt, in correspondance about a different matter indicated that he too was sorry that I could not make it but understands the distance issue.

I did not get direct email confirmation of my RSVP but I was talking with them at the same time about scheduling an oil change so it was included in that conversation. I was in SCI today and everyone is excited about Saturday evening. We will have a police escort !!! and will drive to the circle downtown and ultimately terminate in the parking lot at Ricks Boatyard Cafe. For those unfamilar with it, Ricks is actually a boatyard on the east side of Eagle Creek Reservoir and the cafe part is really quite spacious with really good food (we have work events there like Christmas dinners). Right next to Ricks is Eagle Creek Airport. SCI is not hosting anything inside Ricks but its a nice place to sit under the awnings and look out across the reservoir & watch the sail boats. In general the location is slightly west of the 38th st exit on the westside I-465.

Just got back from the "party". It was a nice time. Met lots of very nice folks and got to check out lots of great (and some not so nice) color combinations. The smart team in Indy are all very nice and gracious, and the event went off quite well, overall.

Having said that, I have to admit that the affair didn't live up to the invitation that I received. Hot dogs are not a barbecue (but there was plenty of food). There was no escort on the drive to downtown and out to Ricks (was told the escort cost too much). And there were no parting gifts (although many, perhaps even most, folks won swag or Sex In The City movie tickets ). All in all, this affair went off WAY on the cheap side. Not that I'm surprised. I can't see how a dealership can even stay in business just selling 300 cars a year that only cost 15K. However, that's no excuse to dangle a carrot and end up feeding a beet. And certainly not a good way to build a "family" or impress any owners.

I'm easily disillusioned by promises not kept, or in this case more like false advertising. But it's a minor beef. I'm sure they'll get their act together next time. And it was still a nice evening out and about.;)

I'm laughing... we had the same thoughts! My hubby said this event surely fits the spirit of Smart - small and inexpensive! GRIN
