I know you said you didn't want a Passion due to price, but once you take the price of a Pure and add A/C, you're not that far away from a standard Passion and, in my opinion, the Passions will have a better resale value as most people want 'all the toys' like power windows, panoramic roof, alloy wheels, etc...

And as someone else eluded to, there is no 'increase in price' to buy an orphan at SCI. But keep in mind MOST of the cars on their lot are NOT 'orphans', but part of their monthly allocation.

Say "HI" to Joe, Walter and everyone there for me!!

Get the passion trim (13990) compared to pure trim (11990) isn't that much in the end if you are financing it doesn't change payment that much.

Yeah, I was just worried that they couldn't get a base model Passion. He told me at first that it would take a year to get a custom configuration, but when I mentioned a Pure he said he could get them right away.

I'm going to ask him tonight if he could get a base model Passion as easily, if so that's definitely what I will do.

I was surprised to hear they do trade ins there too, I wonder how good they are on trade in value?

I wouldn't bother with the trade in. They will tell you up front they don't do well. Sell your existing car outright, and just go buy the smart. That's what I did.

What B&W said is correct. They 'don't do trades well' and I know. When I was getting "Lil Panda", the manager at the time said for me to take it down to CarMax (just down the street) and see what they offered me for my trade and he would match it. I did and he did. Not sure with the economy the way it is if I could have done any better or not, but I took the deal and got the smart. Not regretting it a bit!

Do NOT trade in at SCI. If you do, get everything in writing so you know what to expect.
