Nice, I assume painted BRG? I had 2 spitfires lusted after a GT6+ and dreamed one day of a TR6. Bought a '73 XJ12 instead, not one of my better decisions....

The smart is definitively as much fun as a '70's Spitfire and more reliable too..LOL

Glad to see you are finally enjoying your smart. I'm amazed how well it does in windy conditions considering it's short wheelbase, narrow track, and high profile.
This car requires a little more focus to drive than the average jalopy, it's part of it's fun factor to me.

Saw a guy double park on the other side of the street, run over and circle the car twice, then leave. It was hilarious. I think the old ladies walking were the best!

This kind of reaction is standard with the smart, last summer I took my dad up to the Studebaker museum in South Bend, we stopped for breakfast at a McDonalds on 31, boy did we get the looks! We are both about 300 lbs, and fit into the smart very comfortable. Actually had one guy ask if we both really got out of that tiny car? The looks, reactions, and comments are priceless!

Macaw - TR6 is black blue and the MG is BRG. My son has a 10 foot GT6 Mark 3 (looks good from 10 Feet). XJ12 is a nice car but I hear the V12 is a nighmare to work on. I always liked the XJS but I am strange.
G Hammerly - I think we both go to the same barber Mike at Boone Village. He had a TR6 and one of his customers has a Smart.

Don't get too excited, old British sports car are pretty cheap to buy and own. The problem is that they are like chips, addictive. Not very reliable, MG stands for "My God another part fell off". Having said that the TR6 has never stranded me and I would take it anywhere.

I always thought the TR6 was the best looking of the British Invasion cars. Next was probably an MGB-GT, but that's just me. I used to work at a Jaguar dealer back when they still had parts and catalogs for all those British Leyland Cars. It was sometimes a nightmare to look up parts for them and the owners, though frustrated at the availability of parts, were always appreciative when you COULD come up with what they needed, even if it DID take a month or two to get.

Ah, those were the days........

I first saw them in Paris several years ago myself and fell in love with what a good idea it is not to have more than we need. I placed my order last August and configured about a month ago. The DDE says Nov. 2009 but the dealer said I will probably see mine by August (black/black Passion). There are orphans available in Indianapolis but most are Cabriolets which I don't want (security issues). The few Passions I have seen were colors that don't do anything for me. I am curious, did you at all consider a Mini Cooper when buying the smart?

Also picked a Black/Black passion and still like the color. I would have loved a mini, but couldn't control myself when picking options and would easily have paid twice what the smart cost. If the Brabus was available when I ordered I'd have been in big trouble. As it is the passion is a bargain.
