Severe Weather Damage?
hey all, anyone else in the same boat (pardon the pun) with the bad weather we had last night?
we live over near "pjneedster" on the north/northwest side of Indy and about 10:30pm last night lost our power. was off until about 5:00pm TODAY!!!!
alot of the usual flooding and wind damage around this area. so far haven't heard of any other serious stuff.
everyone else 'ok' ?

hey Jeepster55. Bad luck on your part, the outage boundary was 75th street place. Horth up to 86th was toast including the retail areas at 86th & Ditch. Maybe a 2 sq mile area all together. In my neighborhood my neighbor almost had his truck squished by a major tree limb but our power just flickered a couple of time - which it does on the best of days anyway.

Not to intrude on your chapter, I did some storm chasing in my smart passion yesterday in MN. I parked under a overpass when the hail core reached my location.
Smart is a good chase carif one is on paved roads.

I was in Indy at the 1500 Knife and Gun show. Went with my buddy in his Avalon, his 5 year old son in tow. After eating Sashimi at Sakura, we headed across 36/Rockville road back to Clinton (where my smart was tucked comfortably in my office garage). We got a little heavy rain for two or three minutes at a time. You could just tell that north of the road, they were getting hammered (what a light show!) and south of the road, it looked pretty clear. I made it back home before it really hit over in Vigo, Vermillion counties. I think we faired very well compared to many areas. Particularly south? About the worst thing that happened over here was dead limbs down and the power was still off when I woke up. No big deal, thankfully.
I was surprised that the gun show was pretty busy. The economy looked alive and well at the fairgrounds. Not really my bag, but my close friend loves to go, and I tag along for fellowship. And food.
Just glad we didn't get hammered with hail. It sure looked like it might have happened an second... several different times heading west just before and after sunset.

hey, no problem. everyone is welcome here!
i suppose the panoramic roof is GREAT for storm chasing. of course keeping your eyes on the road as well would then be the challenge.
kind of hard seeing the road ahead while looking STRAIGHT UP!

ah.....the old Gun n Knife Show. haven't been THERE in years! used to go with my girlfriends family each year, but since we broke up 10 years ago, hadn't really crossed my mind. like you said, not reall MY bag as well, but it's an interesting place to 'people watch'!!
glad you made it back in one piece. i see we may be getting hit again. maybe we had all check in again TOMORROW!!! ;)

We had hellacious storms and two tornado warnings last night! One around 9-9:30pm the second was around 2am! I haven't been out to see if there is any damage, but I'll report later if I see any!
So I figured I may as well just add on to this one. There is absolutely NO storm damage that I can find, so no pictures. I am posting a couple new pictures of Einstein in my gallery though!

it's good to hear you, yours and "Einstein" survived all the weather. this last batch wasn't so bad here on the northside of Indy. we went by the smart center yesterday evening and they had ALL the cars inside.....even the demos. guess it only makes sense. can you imagine waiting for 12-18 months for you little smart, only to find it was picked up by strong winds and tossed into the Honda dealership down the street? bummer.......
not like they can say: "Sorry about your car, just pick out another from our INVENTORY!" ha ha ha ha........
i spent the afternoon mowing the lawn and PICKING UP LIMBS!!!!

WOW!! i had no idea until last night the amount of damage done in Johnson County. i knew about down further south near Columbus and Seymour, but even in Franklin, there were many people that lost EVERYTHING!
for anyone who can help, the Red Cross has set up a shelter at the Community Church of Greenwood on W. Main St in Greenwood for Johnson County residents forced from their homes.
they are accepting donations of food, clothing and of course $$ to help.
