I don't know how to post a picture, sorry but I tried a couple of different ways with no success. I have some pictures of mocking up the parts that will make the new intake tube. I plan to weld them next week.
The tube material is 304 stainless steel, 2 inch OD, .065 wall thickness, that makes the ID 1.87 inch. The bends for the new tube have a radius of 3 inches measured from the center line of the tube, that is the reason I'm building it, look at the pictures in the gallery to see how sharp the original tube bends are compared to the new intake tube.

Gus, copy the direct link code at the bottom of your photos, click on the little yellow mountain icon in the thread box and paste in the direct link code:

PS - how's the BP filter?

Thanks jwight! I'll see if I can find the direct link code.
The filter got installed a few minutes before I took these pictures, I had a hard time fitting the cover but figured out that the cover and urethane seal on the filter have high friction or grip, I could not lift the cover high enough to position it properly.
Solution was to coat the cover sealing surfaces with Vaseline (petroleum gelly), that allowed the cover to slide fwd. easily.

Air Intake Design Calculator | REVTRONIX
Link to intake tube calculator. It's a pain in the arse tu use, enter all the numbers and it calculates 5 different resonant points. When you click calculate the results appear for less than a second and then it goes blank so it takes a while to get all the results fur one tube lenght and ID.
Results showed that the stock lenght with both 1.75 ID and 1.85 ID is about ideal for a 3 cyl one liter engine. There are some stright pipe sections not shown and one of the 90 deg. elbows will have to get cut to match one angle, about 30 deg.
By the way, does any one know what the volumetric efficiency of the 451 engine is?
