He did say the "first 100", so anyone that is still wanting to attend might want to ask Walter for a confirmation when RSVP'ing.

Also, this is the 100th Anniversary of the Indy 500, hence the "100" number.

This should be very cool event. I hope you will have someone get lots of pictures and submit them with an article to Smartimes magazine.
They are looking for submissions on events and this could make a great article and should turn out some great photo's of smarts on the brickyard.

Already done. We'll have photographers in place to take pics as well as all the participants, so we should have plenty of photos to see. I've contacted "SmartTimes" and informed them of the event. No reply from them as of noon today.We intend to have a smart "Pace Car" leading the way for the 100 smarts during our "Lap the Track". Unfortunately, the 500 Festival Committee will not allow us to run 'three abreast' like they do at the start of the 500. THAT would be AWESOME!!!!

This is going to be so cool at the track. Imagine the look on people's faces when we all enter the track... and keep coming, and coming and coming.... Anybody got a recent car count for the event?

I was at Camp Jeep a few years ago and it was like that - over 1,500 Jeeps in a line of traffic for miles. Not something you see every day!

Now, if we could just get that many smarts together at a national smart event sometime!

Yea, I've had 3 Jeeps and always wanted to go to one of those 'Camp Jeep' events, but just never got a round tuit. This Indy Meet should be really great. Walter's working on a few things as well as myself, to do while we're 'tailgating' in the infield. Should be A LOT OF FUN!!!! And after all, isn't that what your smart is about? FUN???

I can already see some possible events ala Camp Jeep:

1. Instead of a trail ride, we have a driving course that gets more and more narrow as it twists and turns - see who can make it the farthest without hitting a cone.
2 We have parking spaces of smaller and smaller size to see who can park in the smallest spot without hitting anything - limbo with a smart!
3. Timed panel swapping contest! Fastest two man team wins a set of panels!
4. Prizes for unique mods, performance mods, custom wraps, etc.

On a more serious note, I really enjoyed the focus group meetings with the engineers, product planners, marketing folks where you got to provide feedback on the design, what you would change, how could it be made better, etc. It was a very open brainstorming session on the vehicles...

And, there were the side events like special speakers on various topics (we had a Nat Geo photographer doing a photography session - great!), entertainment/fireworks show, kids activities, tons of food, crafts, etc.

It was a fun and educational event!
