Mine was a 'magnet' at lunch today. Went to Arbys, parked in a place where no other cars were parked. Went in to eat and and while there, a couple cars came and parked on each side of my smart. Each time, the people got out and circled the smart a few times before coming inside. One guy had 2 kids with him, and they were all excited, jumping up and down.

It's almost as entertaining WATCHING others look at the car as it is to be DRIVING IT!

almost.....

Kid Magnet

As many of you know, I am a middle school principal. Nevertheless, my smart is a kid magnet. Every kid who is in the yard playing stops whatever they are doing when Charlie Brown drives past. They point and wave. I think that they believe it is a kid-size automobile and maybe they might have half a chance of talking Mom and Dad into buying one for them to play with!

No worse than the parents of High School students who buy their kids BMW's, Lexus' and Acura's to 'play with'.

I have friends who have a small independant shop that's in a not-too-busy strip mall. When they need to go out of town, sometimes they ask me to mind the store. Where I parked my little smart (blue/silver cabrio) was in a row by itself, visible from the front of the store. I watched not one, not two, but THREE different cars circled around it at different times of the day, before they went on to park nearer the shop they were going to.

Yep. I park away from people. Usually 3-4 spaces away from the last car on the row. I come out, and I'm surrounded. Usually by SUVs...

when going down the road the other day, this guy was gawking at me so hard that I thought he'd sideswipe me...

Ya, it happens to me at the grocery store. I park way off, where there is at least 20 + spaces, we come out and there is at least 3 or 4 cars around us. Today we went by Dairy Queen, no parking. I told my wife, watch this. Pulled into this tiny space right in front of the handicap. I had to pull back some so that the wheel chair ramp was not blocked, but it did not say " NO PARKING" so I was well within the law.

Two old ladies got out of their handicap car, and passed us as they went in, one says, " I would die in an accident if I was in that thing." She got out of a midsize car. I would say she would be dead if we went head to head.
