Had a great time at the smart center Indianapolis Tech Talk today. Got to meet some of the folks in person, check out their cars and meet the staff at the smart center. Based on today's event, the other smart centers have something to shoot for in terms of hospitality. Here are a few photos:

PS - Having met jetfuel and Big Panda in person now, a lot of things have become clear. Glad they could make it, although I think it might have been one of their supervised visits in public.

Nice meeting you today. Thanks for coming all the way over from Ohio to meet up with some of your fellow forum members. Seems most folks there were pretty clueless about SCOA, even when Jet Fuel brought it up. Maybe now a few more Hoosier locals will participate here.

Enjoyed your photos too! Thanks for sharing. It was a nice outing, wasn't it!

Thank you! I'm doing well, I have a wicked black eye that looks awesomely awful! From what I can tell my surgeon did an amazing job. I wasn't fully asleep during the procedure, but was numbed well. If you want more info, feel free to email me!

...yes jwight...thanks a lot for gracing our little ding-ding with your presence...and your camera..mine never left my pocket...too busy japing...the tech talk was more about for understanding the construction/safety/care of the smart for the new owners with some limited wrench turning skills.
...some good stuff was said.. snow driving...they did their sales pitch for car care products..not as tech-ish as I would have liked it but all in all was a great time...

I, for one, am glad that 'Jet' brought up SCOA, but like Matt said, most were pretty clueless. I get the feeling that SCI got some 'bad press' from SCOA forum members about the 'doc fees' and such and have been turned off ever since.

It would be nice, since we have a 'changing of the guard, so to speak, to maybe move past that and get SCI more involved with THIS forum as well. Walter mentioned "smarties of Indiana" (aka SIN) and their website, but nothing about SCOA.

Thanks John for remembering YOUR camera and taking such great pics. Not such a flattering one of me (maybe more fattening than flattering) but hey, I am what I am....BIG Panda!

I've NEVER seen so many smarts at one time. Unfortunately for some, both Brabus' were sold, but they had plenty of everything else to chose from.
Walter was also nice enough to off everyone a 10% DISCOUNT (yea, can ya believe it?) on ALL ACCESSORIES for any purchase made today only! It was very nice of him and I saw several sets of mats and other items go out the door. Someone even purchased some accessories before they had their car!

As for the content of Tech Talk; Danielle went over the safety of the smart, the crumple zones, the Tridion Cell, etc. Owen spoke about some new cleaning products for the Cabrio top and for the exterior/interior of any smart as well. Then the meeting was turned over to Chris whose company does the 'wraps'. They had three smarts there on display with various themes like the one with the Frogs on it. NICE WORK!

All in all, a great day at SCI. Walter and I discussed the "Community Day" project and he also anounced a "smart picnic" in the coming months at Eagle Creek Park.

One thing I noticed, they had A LOT of cars on the lot. Bet they wish they could have had this kind of supply a year ago. This economic toilet we are in is even affecting smart!

Speak for yourself, Jet old buddy. I had the wifey and my 'ankle bracelet' so I was limited as to where I could roam. If we had traveled another block north of Dunkin Donuts, I probably wouldn't have access to a computer right now but instead would be too busy in jail doing my best to keep my backside a virgin from some guy named Tank!

I'll look fwd for the Eagle Creek picnic, that should be a great time. I'll have to take some Bodka to mix with the smartinis since smart center indianapolis claims they will be non alcoholic.
Too bad I did not meet many of you, obiously I figured out who JetFuel is and a couple of friends who own smarts where there too. Will try to meet the rest of you next meet.
