I'm in for WPAFB, jwright, I believe we had a brief discussion about this very topic last summer. Whlie we're at it, we should invite all the Kentucky smarties as well, it so close to them. Of course I'm not sure how, they don't have their own forum here yet. Your right though, the museum is definitely an all day event. You can't possibly see it all in a few short hours.

Thanks "Big Panda" for making this a thread and I really hope you can make it. You too Doc!

Dean, I look forward to meeting your parents, remind them to bring the baby pictures. By the way, what are their names or do we just call them Mom and Dad?

We will see what we can do to get the club leaders together to coordinate something at the WPAFB, it sounds like a lot of fun!

I think you've confused Dayton with Detroit.....

Seriously, it would be a great drive on a nice spring day and what a sight, seeing a dozen or so smarts all lined up on I-70!

btw Mom, I vote for Grandma and Grandpa 'Flea'!

Museum Morning

I am looking forward to seeing everyone Saturday morning. Charlie Brown and I were in Indy the last couple of days. I woke up this morning to 10+ inches of snow! I was a bit worried because they don't have the equipment or the experience that those of us who live in the northern part of the state do....

I swung into the dealership to look at the new colors and then headed home around 2:00. The roads were completely clear in some areas and then I was literally plowing it with Charlie's front end in others.

Don't let the weather hold you back! Get out of Indy and you will be fine. The sunshine this afternoon really helped clear the roads!

See you Saturday!

WPAFB would be awesome. i visit the area regularly since Fairborn, OH is where my GF is from. Its a "suburb" of Dayton. Its not like Downtown Dayton... where I wouldn't wanna go. WPAFB is home to a museum and Hangar 18 which as far as I know is guarded with soldiers with automatic weapons. Downtown Fairborn, OH has a couple little shops including Foy's which is like a Novelty Halloween shop which is awesome.

Well Hangar 18's security measures may not actually be that extensive, but thats what I have heard.

Regrettably, I'm out for this one. Smart is snow bound in my garage. I tried to get up my drive for the first time since "the blizzard of 2009", and I made it about 10 feet. Not much chance of the snow melting (I'm not shoveling or plowing, either) before tomorrow at about 6AM. So I'll have to pass until the weather breaks and the next event rolls around.

Is this event still a go? The road conditions and weather are going downhill fast in the Frankfort neck of the woods
