make sure they use metallic film.....15% would be considered illegal in your state.

Poppy didn't have any tint and the panoramic roof. I didn't mind it last summer. It was a lot easier to see the holiday window gels that I decorate my smarts with. Charlie Brown was tinted at SCI when I purchased him. It does stay cooler in Charlie with the darkened windows. It is also a little bit more difficult to see at night.

And the other posters are correct, in Indiana, you need to stick with 35% to be legal. The rule is 30% TOTAL transmission, so you have to count the tint already in the glass. That's why legal shops won't install anything darker than 35%. I wouldn't go any darker than 20% on the back either. I stuck with 35% all the way around on mine. The smart gets enough attention as it is, don't need any more with illegal tint.
With such a small interior space, I had thought of going 35 on the sides and back, but with the panoramic roof letting in additional light in the day, I said "what the heck" and went with my 'usual' 20. I've had no problems with it, day OR night.

I don't disagree with you, most places you won't have trouble. My truck has 20% all the way around, and I've never had any trouble with it. I was just saying, if you want to stay "legal" that's why you need to use 35%. I do occasionally go through Kendallville, and the cops there are real pr#cks about tint, so I just decided it wasn't worth the risk.

Big Panda,
I tried to PM you, it said you have pm,s turned off? Still checking for tint. I'm going to see a good friend who runs the office at a body shop, and see who they use, He usually gets pretty good deals. If not I need to contact your man.
