CricKet Broadband

UPDATED RESULTS BELOW...NOT GOOD!

Many downsides, one of them terrible installation. Knowing how computer literate I am it took me 1 hour to get this stupid thing to work properly, I mean I was about to pound someone's head in!

Yes, and I just learned a few new things about it...

1) don't download ANYTHING, download speeds are at the most 25kbs
2) don't stream music or video (youtube)(you'll get bored before it starts to buffer even a low quality 2 minute video)
3) beware of pics (threads on here with lots of pics)
4) don't play online games (xbox LIVE, etc.)

Forget this, all four of those things are my ONLY online life! (other than SCOA)

They promised speeds around 2mbs which is tolerable for me but I'm getting dial-up speeds using this stupid thing!

What a waste...mom shouldn't have bought it...

On a positive note: SCOA loads faster on the CricKet Broadband than Comcast did....

SO what is it useful for? Netbooks...or anybody who just wants to surf the web and not stream or download anything...

Thank (religious or non religious being) that SCOA still loads fast!

If not I'd end up taking a va-ca like John H, but not because of new management.

Just have to keep away from YouTube and not want to add any music to my collection, or play xbox, or upload newly finished smarLife vLogs...

Yeah, cricket wireless is not all it's cracked up to be. They make it sound something awesome on tv, but ya gotta read the fine print...

And the fine print at the store says "Broadband Internet at 3G Speed". What they didn't tell me is that they can limit how much internet I get...and knowing how much they suck, they limit me to dial-up speeds...

Their network is still quite small and when a lot of people use the internet they reserve the right to slow down the customers' internet to save space and bandwidth on the network

The parents thought it'll be better to get cheaper internet despite the fact that I told them that cheaper internet means less performance...

No people, when it comes down to internet, the cheapest is not as good as the most expensive...

No worry though, we've ordered some AT&T fiber to be installed on Monday...we'll ditch CricKet for good then...

You haven't priced satellite internet, then... more expensive than cable or DSL, with reduced performance. But, sometimes it's the only option.

Love my FIOS connection. Not too much more expensive if you do one of their bundles with TV and phone.

With the constant terrible weather around here I could expect to lag on X-Box Live...
