Deadly roller coaster in Busch Gardens Florida

Last weekend Sheikra (one of the coolest rollercosters in FL. Two vertical drops with speeds up to 70mph) killed my Xacti camera.... Camera was in my pocket/holster during the ride, and when I was stepping down from the seat it slide out and fell on the metal floor. I was not even worried, because I dropped it so many times, I was sure that the camera is bulletproof. Guess not. This time one of the lenses shattered inside. I can power it on and even take pictures, but it would not focus.



All the photos in my gallery is taken with that camera including all DIY tutorials. Great all purpose pocket size camera. HD 720P videos, 7MP photos, 10x optical zoom.

So I decided to adopt a new one. Got it today all the way from Hong Kong.

Xacti CA9 is little bit smaller camera, HD 720P videos, 9MP photos, 5X optical zoom AND it is WATERPROOF (not just water resistant). I can take it to the beach and waterparks. It is only rated 5ft and up to 60 minutes, but that is all I need. If you wiped out when surfing you are usualy do not dive deeper then that.

Poor camcorder!

At least you didn't accidentally take your expensive phone for a swim like a friend of mine did!

That new one sounds a bit better, although that 5ft depth makes it seem useless...But then again fun...Usually when I go swimming I like the deep end of the body of water...When I dive it'll crush that little guy. But it'll be perfect for shallow recording!

BTW: It seems as even with bugs planted on the front that your car still shines bright!

...sorry about your loss cube...but it seems to me that you need a shatter proof, not water proof...

geez Aydar I was going to put a fund together on here and collect money for you to get a new one. Im sure we would have made it happen being everyone wants your mods lol. I cant imagine you with out a camera. Hey you were at bg why didnt you stop by and say hi????

I have a camcorder that will not focus any more. I thought it was water damage but it could - like your camera - fallen once too often or just the wrong way.

I have dropped bottles before and they just bounce. Yet bounce it again and it shatters. Perhaps this time it dropped at an odd angle which caused the damage.

May your camera RIP; rest in pieces.
