Anyone here users of facebook? I will admit that I haven't been the biggest fan over the couple years at has been out but man am I impressed with the growth of facebook apps!

How about everyone else... do you guys embrace the social networking services much?

I do appreciate the occasional video on YouTube... but wife and I had a hell of a time convincing our teenagers that myspace and such are dangerous.

I would love to support a totally free and open access to every form of expression... but the weirdos, nut-cases, pedophiles, crack heads and other nefarious folks can not control themselves...

Call me cautiously pessimistic and a non supporter or user

disclaimer...I have no idea what Face-book is or does.... I assume similar to my space

Can't keep up with all the different ways there are to communicate today. How come there is such a growing lack of communication then?

Because we* are now reduced to a bunch of callous anonymous butt heads that say things in text msg or on Internet blogs that we would never dream to saying to someone face to face....

I was one of the first people on it at my school, back when it was college only.

I do enjoy facebook. I am a very social person, and when I graduated, I moved 500 miles away from home and knew approximately 3 people in the area. Facebook has really made it easy to keep in touch with friends from back home and see what is going on with their lives. Without it, there are hundreds of people I would have lost all contact with.

I guess I'm old school...email, and really old school, telephone and face-to-face visits.

I met my wife in the net - that's about it for social networking. Facebook and Myspace not my cup of tea.
