Knight Rider GPS by Mio lets you K.I.T.T. out your car
Will the Knight Rider GPS make my Smart a 'KITT' wanabe? I saw this on the GizMag site. "The 3.54" x 3.30" x 0.94" Knight Rider GPS weighs in at 5.08 oz (144g) and will be available later this quarter for a MSRP of US$269.95." It is made by Mio.
Pretty cool, although I might be more interested in the red back-and-forth light in the hood. Actually I think I saw once that someone actually makes those.
It is illegal to have a red light showing on the front of a car. Lights in the front of a car have to be white or amber. Kitt had the benefit of being created by Hollywood and therefore immune to inconvenient laws.
Just my .02, but I think one of their "Non-Hollywood" GPS units might be more bang for the buck. Mio doesn't get a lot of press but the have some nice in-car GPS models usually sold at discount prices. Have been using their C310x for a couple of years now and it's hard to beat for the price. I used to have a product like that light kit installed in the grille of my Chevy Corsica. hooked it up to the alarm so that it was on when the car was armed. Awesome effect. don't drive with it though... got a ticket for that
