Meals on the go: Heinz USB powered mini-microwave

This USB powered mini-microwave - called a Beanzawave - is way cool (in a geek sort of way ).

I read that they are working on a Battery powered version. If you think it is cool and/or helpful, one can fill out a questionair and tell Heinz. I know I will be.

From an 1100 watt microwave in the kitchen to a... 2.5 watt microwave? Not gonna happen.

For heating small single serving meals, I think it would be ideal. It might take longer but one could continue to work while it is heating the food. It might not happen but I still think it is cool. There are alot of things that are cool but never come to being made. Car companies have alot of cool concept cars.

Does it look as cool as the Beanzawave? One is paying for cool.

Agreed

It would look on my smart dash, not to mention the aroma of the sizzling beans

Perhaps having the passenger heat the food or while one is at a rest stop?

Since it is USB powered, perhaps if one has a radio that has an USB port, one could power it that way. Perhaps if they had a battery powered one where one has a converter that one could plug in the power outlet?

With a cruise control from one of the fine vendors here at SCOA it does!!

Looks cool if it actually works but I can't help think "Easy Bake" oven when I look at it. NO - I never had one of those as a kid....I was a Hot Wheels/Matchbox kid all the way.

Well, I do - sorta'. No, not instantaneous microwave cookery of a bowl-a'-beans, but something more practical. It is a 12VDC Waeco Tropicool TC-18, about the volume of a milk crate (a bit taller, a bit narrower). Presently it sites nicely in the back of the smart with the power cord festooned from the underdash socket back to the rear (I need to do better with that). It runs on the Peltier principal of thermoelectric heat transfer. It can either heat or cool with thermostatic control in ranges of +40F to -40F from ambient temperature. Handy for the countryside picnic or whenever one needs to transport something cold or hot over a distance. Like bringing the ice cream back from the commissary in Summer, or away with a hot dish over the river and through the woods in the Winter to ....
