I spoke with the scangauge folks. It is a question of the smart logo on it and the ramifications of either MB or Roger. There has to be some sort of smart approval to have their logo put on items.

did they give you any sort of timeframe for approval or denial? i'm just curious because i'd like to get one, but if the smart-specific one is coming out in the next few months, i'll just hold off a little longer. thanks a lot!

From what I gather, the only difference in the standard ScanGuage II and the “smart optimized” version is the addition of the logo and the smart specific info has been pre-entered into it. In essence, the initial setup (about 5 minutes) has been done for you.

If the logo is important to you, wait for it. If not, buy the standard version. They work great.

I agree, nice helpful people there too. I got one for my 2002 diesel truck. Good info tool.

Just to re-emphasize oldbike's point. The scangauge is very easy to set up. I have had mine for over a year and have used it to read codes on three of my friends vehicles as well as tracking data from both of my cars.

I stopped by the dealer today with Scangauge II in hand. Tried out the usual spots on the cabrio demo. Attached to ceiling just in front of the dome light behind the rear mirror mount looks great. Now to figure out if the cable is long enough (I can order the longer cable)/ see if the cable can be run behind the plastic moulding/ most important - get the car first.
But I can plan ahead!

I must be doing things backwards.
I've had my car for a month, but just ordered my ScanGauge yesterday. I've already got the confirmation email from Linear-Logic. Really looking forward to taking delivery of my ScanGauge! Woo-Hoo!
Anyone know the time from confirmation to delivery?
