Do you think the Scanguage blend mount will work on the Smart or is there a better way to mount it..

I am planning on mounting mine above the rear view mirror attached (but removable) to the ceiling. Out of the sun but easy to check. A Cat-5 cable extension cable will extend it if need be.

Installed it today. Real "fun" trying to remove the header panel. The post cover was much easier. Had to use a Cat-5 extension, but it worked perfect. The extension is white and matches the top much better.

Used the "super velcro" to hold it up there. I want it removeable (I have an extra cable) to check other vehicles with "check engine lights" and whatnot.

The panel removed. I tried to coil up the excess white cable, but could not get it to fit. Pushed the Cat-5 connector down inside the post.
You remove the ten screws on the top panel. Pull the back side down to release the plastic pop slots (one in each corner). Then the whole panel slides forward to release.
The posts are held in by one screw and three plastic pop slots. While I was at it, I installed the ham radio Larson glass mount antenna and hid the cable in the right post cover.

Yes nscale trains. More into Z scale now. I guess I like things small?;)
The post cover is held on by one screw at the top and then three of those plastic pop rivet things. Once the cover is off, it is quite easy to fish the wire between the dash and the side of the car.

You can see the groove for cables cut out of the plastic.
