smartcar medallions

My wife ordered a set of the custom-made smartcar medallions for my smartie for Christmas, and I have to say....they look excellent. Extremely well made & classy looking. I don't have them mounted YET, because I've got to wash off all the road grime from our recent winter storm here in the PNW! :>( However, I am anxious to get them mounted and see how they look on the car! I'd also like to say that there was a very minor problem with the first set my wife received, but when she called and talked with Ron Gaus, he said the problem happened in every 1 in a 1000 sets produced, and he IMMEDIATELY sent her another set...... no charge......AND told her to just KEEP the first set. This guy really stands behind his product, and that is sometimes rare in these days & times! :>) I highly recommend Ron Gaus & asmartcar.com.

It would be neat to see photos of it when they are on your car. I will check out the site.

There was another post where medalions were attached using a 'frame' that is held in place by the same screws that hold the licence plate in place. This makes it easier to attach without having to drill or screw anything into ones Fortwo.

GoMiniGo has a way to attach badges without drilling.

I have my license plate mounted using that bracket, but the medallions have an adhesive backing, so I'll be mounting them on the tridion about 12" from the top and centered. That way curious folks will be able to just walk up and read the information on the medallions! Plus they look really GOOD mounted there! :>) I've seen some photos of other fortwos with the medallions on the tridion, and they really give the car a "limited editon" look! :>)

I honestly think that if you saw them in person, you would be impressed with the quality & craftsmanship. They are extremely well made & look really impressive. I will upload some photos once I get the grime off my car (hopefully in the next day or two) from the horrible winter weather that we had recently! :>)

I won't argue that they are inexpensive however I've had a set on my car since March of last year and if I keep the car for twenty years I am confident they will look as good as they did the day I mounted them.

The construction is worth the money and they are very well done.

Only problem with them is the erroneous information they contain. The smart was not introduced just in Spain in 1998 rather in Belgium, Germany, France, Italy, Luxembourg, Austria, Switzerland, and The Netherlands as well.

In addition, it is not "clutchless" rather doesn't have a clutch pedal.
