The truck driver was not having a good day. Apparently, he was dispatched to take Hwy 129 and didn't know what was in store for him. There are multiple warning signs addressing trucks for miles in the approach to the Dragon. He must've figured they were addressing OTHER truck drivers.
Those same warning signs are also placed on many mountain roads that truck drivers take all the time. The guy seemed like a nice guy who was having a really bad day. He listed to suggestions and took his time and did it the best way he could.

Speaking as someone who stripped the top of a tractor trailer off in the middle of Queens, NY I have somewhat of an idea of the self inflicted judgement that was going on in that rig. He's not getting my judgment....

Well, what ever it means when you pass by a parked car is what I mean

So what did the signs warn? Sharp turns, low clearance? BOTH?

Years ago, I came across a semi accident scene on the Interstate ... I believe it was in Missouri. He'd been transporting a large boat (yacht) on a flatbed, 'til it didn't clear an overpass. When I passed law enforcement were directing traffic around, so it had been some time since the incident occurred. The 'boat' was lying on the highway and looked totaled. Ya think the driver lost his job?

As I recall, the number of miles ahead of switchbacks and mountain grades. And, suggestion to take alternate routes.

I don't know who I feel worse for, the owner of the boat, the trucker, or the Swift driver on the Dragon.
