My kids gave me the Pioneer Inno XM receiver for Christmas in 2006 and I have used it extensively both in carry-around mode and with my home stereo and in a variety of cars. Although the car kit provides the ability to keep the unit charged while driving, the downside of temporary installation is an adapter for the Inno, the button antenna, a power plug, and lots of wires strung across the cockpit. What has worked best for me in my MINI is using the Belkin headphones (the ones with the antenna built into the headband) and an audio cable connected to the AUX input. I just put the unit in the cup holder and place the headphones on the seat or on the dash. The Inno automatically routes the audio signal to the headphone jack when it senses a connection. The sound is awesome and I get about 4 to 5 hours on a charge on the Inno. It makes it easy to carry all the evidence of a sat radio away with me when I park and to use one subscription in many cars.
