DDE date finally!

Reading all the out of state time line is making me wonder what it is in Ohio. After having Jan - March 09 DDE, then Can not estimate, then Bedford listing orphans the same as we ( myself and one other) are waiting on at Easton, Is the next step real dates ? Is my fear Bedford got my car by mistake out of line?

I just am a but let down right now since no one at Smart can tell me anything other than scripted responses.

I would say this might have something to do with the DDE changing to Can not estimate

SmartUSA would like to announce a change to the “Comfort Package” option on the 2009 smart fortwo passion coupe and passion cabriolet models. Beginning with March 2009 production models, the optional “Comfort Package” will include electronic power steering, heated leather seats and fog lamps. The fog lamps will replace the rain/light sensor and auto-off headlamps with exit delay, which will no longer be available.
If you have received this letter it is because you are a reservation holder who ordered the optional “Comfort Package” on your passion coupe or passion cabriolet scheduled for or after March production. Therefore, you are scheduled to receive fog lamps as part of the “Comfort Package”. There will be no change to the cost of the “Comfort Package”. If you configured your reservation with both the “Comfort Package” and fog lamps as separate options, there will now be no cost for the fog lamps.

Finally, after waiting 10 days in the limbo of "Cannot estimate your delivery date", I now have actual dates, 3/16/2009 to 6/14/2009. This is nowhere near the January to March 2009 that I was seeing 10 days ago, but it is good to have actual dates. Plus, I can save up more money for a downpayment.

Mine changed to the same thing 3/16/2009 to 6/14/2009. I am going to say it will be mid April when we get the car. It will move up/down more I bet.

Finally after long weeks of Feb 2009 - April 2009, I get the message that my DD cannot be estimated at this time. I am thrilled beyond measure as this must mean something is in the works.

it will most likely come back with a date like 3/21/2009 to 6/19/2009 like mine.

I'm on my 5th week of waiting for a date to reappear. It was Jan - March. Now that we're in Feb and still no date, I'm beginning to wonder...

Finally, I got the email!

"Great News! We are excited to inform you that your smart fortwo is scheduled to arrive in the United States within the next 90 days. "

So I should get it just after winter. I would hate to have to break it in during this weather.

I got mine today also. Easton also called to see if I had any questions and if I still wanted the car. Great communication so far!

Well, its been three weeks since I got actual dates, and they haven't moved all that much, started at 3/16 to 6/14. now sitting at 3/20 to 6/18. Only a month left till I hit that first date. Waiting seems harder now that I am getting closer.
