They added them after I configured. So, I am guessing that I can just go down to the dealer if I really want them and have them update the ECU to turn on the low beams. I am guessing that is what they are doing from what I have been reading. If not, no worries here, I always run with my lights so that the idiots don't run into me.
Unless something changes by the time you get your car, the US smart centers do not have the ECU programming necessary to enable the DRLs. I'm assuming this is done at the factory for those ordering 09s, but am still wondering what the $50 charge is for.
Just checked the Canadian site; all their cars come with DRLs, but I didn't see any way to configure with the auto headlights (not even mentioned.) So, as mentioned elsewhere, it appears the two are incompatible.
