I installed the Area 451 CC a while ago (okay, I got in everything EXCEPT the wire harness - didn't want to mess up the car's plug, so I had a Charlotte company do it - $50 and half and hour). The Area 451 is very simple - push the button to turn it on at present speed, tap the break or push the button to turn off. Granted - no resume or accel feature, but that's what I have a gas pedal for... I have no experience with the other, so I can't comment on better or worse, but I do love the one I have.

Doesn't the area 451 have a led light on the stalk?

Are you playing straight-man for me, fpage77?

The LED comes standard on the stalk but I can supply an LED kit to move the indicator to your console in a very clean implementation. To get the kit, the place I direct most people to is here.

I have not seen this post before today. It's interesting there is a place on the instrument cluster for cruise light.

Not so much a place specifically for a cruise light - just an un-used spot at the top of the right idiot-light cluster (probably for some other use that we don't have here)

Actually it's EXACTLY for a cruise light. The instrument cluster has the cruise-control icon in the artwork, just no LED behind the symbol. If you look at the link directly above, you'll see pictures of the stock instrument cluster graphics with the LED(s) behind.

OK.. Test drove D Force's Passion with the Area 451 cruise control..... I like it, It's simple and very easy to use. The installation is clean and looks part of the vehicle. D did a great job of installing it. he also showed me his Spare tire set up which I already started sourcing parts for.!
next up.. Testing out the MDC sometime in the next week or so.... Will post results...

Allright. Heading to Myrtle beach tomorrow for a couple of days. Hopefully I'll meet up and test out RWest's MDC system. Then order a system in the next few days.

I'll post the differences when i get back.
Stay Smart,
Ozzie

Hi folks. I got back from Myrtle beach today. It was very nice out there. Supposively it's Bike fest over there, but there were very few bikers. A local vendor told me this time last year you couldn't walk across Ocean cause of the crowds.

Well RWest was kind enough to come out and meet me there and I test drove his beautiful Silver 09 Cabrio Brabus with the MDC cruise. I have to say it's more like the cruise control in other cars i've driven. I like the max speed limiter and the easier install sure helps. But the LED is definitely no bright enough, But I hear the folks at SmartMadness are working on a fix for that as I type this.
I went ahead and ordered the MDC today. Will install it late next week when it gets here and post pics and info on it.
