Cruise Control

I ordered from Smartieparts the Area 451 cruise control.

I had mine install today at Autotoyz on 7321 B, North Tryon St Charlotte.
There phone number is 704 596-7557.

I am to big to crawl around this little thing now so I had them do it for only $75.00 labor.

It works great.

Bill,

Had you used Autotoyz before or was this the first time? Nice to know that there is someone out there beyond smart/MB who is capable of doing some of these mods - $75 sounds more than fair!

Look forward to seeing your install but for now I am backed up on my own mods - Breathless Stealth cat-back and new horn.

Tom

They installed cruise on a couple of my company cars a few years ago. They did a good job so if anyone would like to not install it themselves then this is the place to go. Autotoyz.

Installed my Area 451 Cruise

Installed my Area 451 Cruise control yesterday with no problems. Removing the pins was a pain until I pulled a dental pick I normally use for electronic assembly out of the tool box. That made the pin removal easy.

The Carolinas Miata Club has tech days so members can help each other with installs like this. Would make a good project.

The cruise control is well worth it. Instructions are very detailed and good. It's simple to use and adds a missing function the Smart.

I also installed an Area 451 cruise control on our Smart yesterday. After months of procrastination and gut wrenching over the possibility of messing it up, I tackled it. Following Area 451's instructions, the project went smoothly and everything works great. The pins on the wire connectors are a pain in the rear but not impossible to deal with. Total installation & clean-up took less than two hours to complete.

Well worth the cost!
