Insight of Fleetwood Coronado Project:
Well here is a brief insight on what my plans are. Overall im looking to give this Rv a Upscale VIP feel with a more modern image.
The interior will be redone and wood will be stained Cherry Oak, new Marble styled tile will be layed as well as fresh carpted. There will be 2 LCD screen TV's intalled for viewing pleasures, as well as more advancements to include a full black on black body paint scheme with black limo tinted windows. There may be one or two mods done to the engine to give it alittle more boost of acceleration. To top it off it will finally be complemented with a 16-20ft black enclosed trailer to trailer around my Smart Car.

Completion Date:
TBA

As updates and progress is made pics will be added.

Looking great buddy, can't wait to see the finished product. Is that an old P-30 chassis with 454 or a newer Ford V-10?

My parents had a '91 Southwind '37 and it was a handful to drive. Overheated like crazy too when they came to visit me in Texas. I spent their entire vacation with me replacing the entire cooling system (fan, fan clutch, radiator, hoses, coolant etc.), but that's just the nature of the beast in mid-August Texas. It's hot so it was bound to test the cooling system.

Driving it around tractor trailers was downright scary, I've got a CDL and mroe than enough miles behind the wheel of an 18-wheeler but it scared me. Yours looks newer so it will most likely be a "P-32?" chassis that has much better road manners from what I've heard. My parents have since upgraded to a Ford chassis, later model V-10. I love driving that - very nice.

How's the A/C work in it? Looks like a 35'? Think twice about painting that exterior black. Looks cool but most RV's are white for a reason - that one tiny little 13,500 sitting on the roof. Sounds like you got big plans. I'd love to get another RV once again but I don't see it happening anymore. Who knows. Either way, my parents have one that never gets used and its there for my pleasure if I want it I suppose..hate to borrow things but they're old (had to drive over to their house a few minutes ago just to show them how to work the DVD player so they can watch a movie).

Another thought....

Looks like you really have a great project underway!! Congratulations.

I see that you mentioned plans for a 16-20' enclosed trailer to haul your smart. You can save quite a bit of money with our open Smart Trailer USA, which is only 14' long and much less expensive. I'm sure you are concerned about protecting your baby and I certainly agree on that score.

I'd offer that you really don't need the enclosure to protect the car from other than a bit of dirt. If the motorhome has good mudflaps and/or a rear skirt, you'd not have a problem. My wife and I completed a 7,200 mile trip in our 32' Forest River Sunseeker LE with no nicks, bumps, dents, scratches, nada, on our Bumble. We don't even have a skirt.

The trailer only weighs 600 lbs and we don't feel it back there, not even when we chugged over the Rockies at 11,000 feet in a snowstorm!

Check it out at Smart Trailer USA.
