I just talked to Ryan, and he's hoping to have another truck next week, but they haven't been told anything specific. Apparently, there are "5 more to go" before me (I'm an 1174).

I'm picking mine up this weekend. I'm a 1174 also. I work in Ames and live in Nevada.

I'm picturing driving I-80 between Omaha and Des Moines on those wonderful hills (Beautiful through there! We sometimes stop to take our picture with the Earlham sign). I wonder how the smart will do on those hills. little extra shifting perhaps, but probably won't lose speed or anything, dontchya ya think?

Honestly, I had no problems with those hills - I even took the "extra hilly" route by taking 680 instead of 80. I had no problem getting to or maintaining 70-75mph. I don't recall any extra shifting. If there was, it wasn't noticeable.

Got my smart over the weekend. Probably the worst weather for smart there ever was. Wind gust above 40 mph, blowing snow, other cars going into the ditch, snow in drifts across the road, etc. Driving was a little exciting in places, but overall was acceptable. Went 200 miles on only 1/2 tank of gas. Only thing that went wrong was the gas gage didn't register full. Anyone else have this problem?

I saw a Yellow smart in the Allied/Nationwide parking lot in Downtown. Does it belong to anyone on this forum??

Yup - That's me!! I live near there, so I opted to rent a monthly space in the ramp rather than on-street or in an unsecured open lot.

Any updates on anyone in Iowa??? Someone else needs to help me answer all the questions while I'm out driving!!! (or at the gas station, or stuck in traffic on I-235, or in the middle of Grand Ave.)
