Chinese Noble G4 on sale in Iowa
I checked out a Noble G4 at the Iowa State Fair today. Its a chinese made copy of the Smart 450 but with a 4cy. Mitsubishi front wheel drive. They, being Des Moines Motors, said it has an estimated 45 mpg city/55mpg hwy. It is longer and wider than the Smart and a bit heavier. I don't see how they can get that MPG out of the 4cy. Mitsubishi. The Noble did improve on some of the Smart's short commings, spare tire, four bolt wheels (15"), 195's on all 4 corners, a back seat. Here is the big drawback, 10/10/2008, reported by the China Automotive Tech. and Research Center, gave the Noble a 2 Star rating. I asked about its crash rating and was told it should be out in a couple of day, LOL.. Here is a link to crash test.
Noble crashes out of key car safety tests -- china.org.cn
In the flyer, for safety, you can get options such as dual air bags, and the combination of ABS and EBD braking sys... LOL.. Listed features, Armored Energy Absorbing Body.. I wonder if that is the steel hood it has?
If people don't do their homework on this, they may get screwed royaly

Have you seen how those are constructed? I have...and if you have any concern for your life you should avoid that car. It is built by an underpaid laborer using a stick welder...seriously. The frame looks like that of a Jr. High go-kart project. 1" steel box tube all around and the welds look horrible.
The body is a giant 1 piece fiberglass piece which is also hand fabricated.

And of course, people thought it was a Smart...so now they think airbags are options on our cars. The only thing this display did is confuse people even more.

So does it have "Rack and Pinion" steering or a standard steering gear box?
