Iowa Spring '09 Meet & Greet

Here is the plan for the Spring 2009 Iowa Smarties Rally. It is scheduled for April 25, 2009.

Meet in Polk City town square at 12:30pm. We can go to lunch at a local pizza place then. (Plenty of parking is available)
After leaving, we will drive across Saylorville Lake and then drive south. We'll eventually approach a unique photo spot, then we will continue to the dam for another spectacular spot to take a picture.
Continue to drive down to Des Moines and cruise through the downtown district.
End at Gray's Lake in South Des Moines.

It is a bit twisty, but it appears to be a very scenic drive. Also no freeway action this time.

Jeff, have you driven this road or seen the Harbor Grill? I drove down from Polk City today and couldn't find the Harbor Grill. They are listed in the phone book, but the # is disconnected. Will PM u to talk about it. The town square in Polk City looks like the best place to meet.

Jeff, the map change didn't take, remember the road out, off the west end of dam, is closed from the wash out from the flooding last summer. Also, west or east side of the lake? The tanks are on the west side. The rout that we ran today was 27.6mi. on my GPS, that was all the way down town. Its going to be a great time.

Strange, I checked it earlier and it worked. Well its all set now. I couldn't manipulate the map to go to the dam because then it wanted to loop around (not knowing about the closed road)
