Rollerskating Smart meet

Over here in good old blighty, the weather is rubbish and wet, but that did'nt put a dampener on our spirits as we went Rollerskating today at Derby Rink.
Good standard of skating was observed, as for some of us it was'nt our first time skating, I had told everybody I had never been rollerskating before, which was true, but I have spent thousands of hours on ice skates as a teenager and took iceskating back up a couple of years ago as a way of keeping fit, I was'nt as good as on the ice but I saw a few raised eyebrows from some of the smarties, haha, but I am really suffering now as I did up my boots too tight and my right foot cramped up badly on the way home, making driving interesting to say the least.
Afterwards we went to a local pub around the corner from the rink and had a lovely lunch and a few other smarties turned up that did'nt want to go skating.
Sorry no pics of either cars or us skating as it was raining heavy outside and it was too dark inside as it was like a disco.
Next week we are doing a run to Whitby,(Dracula landed there in the novel and Bram Stoker is buried there), for halloween.
We are going in fancy dress, and dressing up our smarts so I will take lots of piccies and post on here next week.
Happy motoring,
El

I keep wondering if I'm going to be the first roller derby player who owns a smartie in the US.

Wow, Roller Derby, you guys are nuts, as if rollerskating is'nt dangerous enough, then you get other skaters trying to clothesline you.
The good news is though, you only need one leg to drive a smart.

I decided pretty quickly that it's safer than playing keeper in soccer. I haven't been kicked in the face once, nobody holds any grudges, and I can hit back.

Actually, today's roller derby is nothing like the stuff we saw on TV in the 80s and earlier - for one, it's not fake. And despite the shoulder in my face on the picture, there's a much larger emphasis on safety - clotheslines and elbows are serious no-nos now.

For a moment I thought this thread was going to feature smart cars being used as roller skates.
