Sheffield Smarties first meet

After going to loads of Smart car meets this year, I bit the bullet and organised my own meet, I have started up Sheffield Smarties.
We had our first meet yesterday, to make it easy for everyone I organised it at a big entertainment centre, where there is a bowling alley, a cinema, a huge arena for concerts, ice hockey, showjumping events, and a load of different eateries dotted about the place, I'm sure you have something similar over there.
We met up at 12noon, had half an hour in the carpark looking at each others cars, a few had remaps done at a bargain price of £99, the usual price for a remap over here is £299, so it is a fantastic saving, then we had 2 games of 10 pin bowling, and then went to Frankie and Benny's for a smashing meal afterwards, their bbq ribs are to die for.
It went really well, everybody seemed to enjoy themselves, and were asking what we are doing next, so that was a good sign, and then we all set off for home just as the sun was going down.
The event looked as if it might have to be cancelled half way through the week as the forecast was for blizzard conditions, but the weather changed and it was dry on the day, even though it had been snowing overnight, by the time noon came all the snow had gone.
here is a few piccies of some of the cars, although not all of them as others arrived after we had gone inside, as we were all freezing stood ouside.

Yes, thanks for the photos and info on the meet. Are there a lot of these around the UK?

Yes loads of meets all over Britain, the big one at Brooklands attracts over 1,000 smart cars every year, with dealers and indies and accessory companies turning up, but up until yesterday, there was no Sheffield group, so I am pleased it went so well.

ps. See some of my other threads in International chapter for some of the meets I have been on this year with other area groups.

It looks great does'nt it, and it is straight from smart, when you ordered your smart it was a £200 cost option over standard, there is also a scribble option that looks as if your kid has gone mad with a felt tip pen.
