9 New Green Cars Unveiled Car-makers Compete for Prestige at Biennial Frankfurt Auto Show

Here’s a look at some of the new eco-friendly auto models unveiled at the Biennial Frankfurt Auto Show, as detailed by the Toronto Star. Not all of these vehicles will be available in the United States anytime soon — but they demonstrate the innovation taking place in the auto making industry — and that’s a very positive sign.

Stuttgart, May 23, 2007 -- “Open your mind” - and combine an exciting lifestyle with environmental protection: True to its philosophy, smart is supporting the Live Earth concerts and “Save Our Selves – SOS” campaign against global warming launched by Founder Kevin Wall and Partner former U.S. Vice President Al Gore. DaimlerChrysler is with smart the world’s only automaker serving as an official partner of the Live Earth concerts, which will feature more than 100 headliners on July 7, 2007.

Smart is providing the official shuttle service for all artists and other celebrities participating in Live Earth.

Large tractor trailers with Smart cars and insignias on the side are stopping in over 50 U.S. metropolitan areas and Washington D.C., some local events, universities, and retail outlets. The trailers are like portable Smart dealerships and come with interactive demonstrations and virtual presentations. 

An unpredictable optimist is a person who gets chased up a tree by a big, bad, hungry bear and enjoys the view.  The undying optimist are all you spirited Smart car devotees, who have waited these many years, singing the Smart cars praises and keeping the Smart wheels turning. For those of you who have not been following the saga, it went something like this.
