Ok, I’ve been searching all over this forum....I know it’s in here somewhere but I’m just not having any luck. Can’t find it... How does one reteach the transmission?
In my case, 2009 Passion.
reteaching is done by tuning on the ignition (but not starting the motor) and while holding the brakes, move the gear selector to each gear (r, n, d) and waiting a bit between changing positions until all the clunking stops before going to the next gear.
Holding the brake will keep you from rolling away while the transmission 'finds' each gear
pretty sure it is covered in the owners manual
I believe, what ever software loaded in the car computer. Dictates the transmission shift points. There isn’t any learning process, or any fuzzy logic. My car in it’s first year, had 2 transmission software updates. Preform by a smart car service department. Service bulletin updates.
