Here's an article on "Bridging America" event held today. It has about a dozen pics.

Is the Lake Mead level really low? I see a light colored band around the shoreline which I don't remember when I was there (early 1980s).

That would leave the various marinas on dry ground! Seems like a problem to me. At least, to the marina owners and pleasure crafters who used to use them.

The lake is actually down approximately 125 feet from full pond. I've been boating on that lake since 1958, have seen it so high in 1983 it went over the spillways for the first time since it was opened in 1938, to this near record low. From the dam I have boated approximately 75 miles to the upper end, and 64 more miles up the Grand Canyon. Its the second most beautiful lake west of the Mississippi (Lake Powell being #1). I started Water Ski Racing there in 1980, and offshore racing shortly after. The lake can be as smooth as silk and so rough it will scare you to death. In August the water temp gets as high as 86, the air temp has exceeded 120 at times. From my porch I can see NV, AZ and UT and if I walk up the hill behind the house, add CA to the view...
