Will not charge! Help

Hi

I have imported a smart car to Australia. It will not charge and I don't know why. It won't charge with a commercial charging station, won't charge with the charger that came with it. Won't charge with a brand new charger.

It only has a couple of miles on it now until it's dead.

How is the charging supposed to work?

It's just a matter of plugging the charger in to the car, no magic to it. I don't know if there might be something special they do when they ship a car but I sure hope it's not the infamous bad battery pack or you just bought a brick. Hopefully someone else here will know if there might have been something special done when it was shipped.

No the 12v says it's nearly dead.

Does this matter?

That might not be the problem but you definitely need a charged 12 volt to get things going though it may not fix your problem.

What do you mean by the 12V battery "says it's nearly dead?"

When you turn the keyswitch, does the instrument panel, gauges, and lighting work?

If not, charge the 12V battery without delay! But, fair warning, you might have more problems coming! Read this sticky post:
