Drivers Side Handle Plastic surrounding. (pic)

Anyone have this part available by chance?
Pic below
My wife (today, on mothers day..) backed out of the garage with the door slightly open and cliped the garage door.

You know, that piece, which is slightly discolored on our smart because of the sun, is one of the few telltales that our car is not brand new and just out of the dealer's room.

It will be interesting if you end up posting the replacement cost.

Smartmadness may very well have that part since they sell chrome ones. If a swap from another car is fine with you I would go that route.

No, in the case of our smart, I can confirm this piece of plastic is physically deteriorated by the sun, or by the washing, or ozone, or whatever. It is discolored, at any rate.

I think you are going to require a whole new driver's door exterior handle assembly. Your dealer or possibly Smartmadness should be able to provide you with a replacement. Otherwise, check out ebay motors or the smartcar market place on this forum. It could have been a lot worse and good luck in acquiring a replacement part.

There is one listed on the German ebay website

Doesn't look too expensive. You could always call a smartCenter with the part number to see if it can be ordered.

Thanks for the idea's. Wife decided to just get it over with and ordered from the dealer. $71 includes the whole handle assembly. Will replace it myself once it comes in (10 days...) Thanks again!
