I came across this Smart 453 on the internet and fell in love with it..
I utilized my people hunting skill and was able to track down to the owner. He told me that his kit was a one of, custom made kit. With the wide body, he had to cut the fenders like RWB, Liberty Walks, and Rocket Bunny body kits. I really like the way it look without exposing rivets like other wide body kits. Anyone likes it here?
Per owner, he also had a custom ECU tuning based on stock EU Brabus ECU, in collaboration with a Belgian engineer, he is currently pushing 137PS or 135HP on the car with stock turbo and everything else. He is still trying to squeeze more power out of it, but he told me that with stock 0.9 liter turbo motor, maybe the cap is at 140PS. He would't go further than that, otherwise the reliability may be a concern.
A 50% increase in power on stock parts is very good, especially if there is little/no effect on reliability. Similar gains to what was possible with the cdi remaps. As a comparison that would be like a 500 Abarth making 240 HP with stock parts. Torque numbers would be good to know and if the car is DCT or 5 speed.
I have to applaud anyone making an attempt to make a one off vehicle . Some fail without question . I've seen some real blunders out there, although this one is quite grigarous in nature , it isn't a half assed attempt . That alone give it credibility in my book . Who ever owns this ,obviously enjoys a challenge , and I really don't think they care if we like it or not . I'm just glad I got an eyeful of something I'll probably never see in person. Creativity Lives .
Also, my attachment space has used up, do you know if there is anyway I can get extra space without paying for the membership? any other way to post photos without using attachment function?
The wheels/tires have no apparent clearance and the ride quality would be horrendous, at best. And the wing... well, what’s the point?? It’s not like the car needs aerodynamic assistance.
As art, it’s a head-turner (not saying that in a good sense). As a performer, it’s a full-on senseless fail. If uselessly bizzarre makes it worthwhile, then it’s a big win.
Everyone either Loves or hates on a modified Smart.
I agree Miss Mercedes, I made mine how I wanted and it turn more heads than you'd think.
As for speed, no mine is not as fast as it "looks" but riddle me this, I can ride the as# of any factory muscle car all the way to 55mph before they start to pull away.
If I am beside them I pull ahead by a Smart car length or more up to 40mph.
Yes it is slow but still a jaw dropper. 0-60mph in under 7 seconds is respectable on city streets.
WHAT KIND OF SPOILER IS THAT AND WHERE CAN I GET USED OR NEW,AND WHERE CAN I GET 17X10,17X12 THREE LUG RIMS AND LOW PROFILE TIRES FOR MY 2015 SMART CAR AND TURBO KIT
This car is what made me want to buy a Smart. And the wife approves 🤣
