Heard that Jetfuel may be working on a smaller smartX version - launching his brabus?

Was an awesome sight, indeed! About time we are back into space in a serious way.

I watched an interesting video on this subject.

Theoretically, had NASA not stubbornly pursued the Space Shuttle and instead took the route SpaceX, Blue Origin, and the like are doing today, perhaps humans may have had a better relationship with Mars than we do today.

Instead, with NASA lagging behind in tech and too crippled in funding to catch up, SpaceX is leading the way. Now I guess we’re sending a Tesla Roadster to Mars, because why not?

Side note: The name “SpaceX” is literally a Spaceballs joke. The company is a meme that gets government money.

Absolutely correct. If NASA had continued on the development path after the moon shots we would most likely be on Mars right now. Despite the huge technology advances resulting from the space industry, many at the time complained about the money it took for the moon series. Even though the NASA budget for all the moon shots was supposedly only 1/10 of what we spent on the Vietnam War. What payback did we get from that investment?!

At least SpaceX's visions are for further development of technology, science, and space exploration. Hopefully the private industry sticks to that idea instead of becoming obsessed with profit motives.
