Smarts are flying, now...

Well...kinda

A company called FlyEco has developed a light aircraft / ultralight aircraft engine based on the Smart diesel engine used in European Smarties. Don't think has been certified, yet, but it is flying and is being tested...

I know this is an older thread but.....If they do in fact use this engine in planes, will it be banned from flying or landing in the United States? I say this since th EPA wouldn't allow the diesel Smart car version to be imported . DCO

Not a Mitsu; as far as I know it's a Mercedes engine, although I think somebody said they were actually manufactured by a third party. One of the 450 guys will know.
