Gas Miles per Gallon tracking

When you start posting MPGs on these things please add:

Location:
Typical terrain: (hilly, steep mountain, sea level, altitude etc..)
Driving style: (hyper-miller, lead foot, sporty, conservative etc..)
Load: (single drive mostly, driver and passenger mostly etc..)
Fuel brand and octane: ( Shell, Chevron, 89, 91, 93)
Clean air blend: if any (10%, 15% ethanol or MTBE)
Total tank fulls in the average
Tire pressure: (please check this cold as it makes a significant difference in performance and seriously effects MPGs)

It will be interesting to see mpg plotted against total vehicle miles. I bet these engines need a few thousand miles to loosen up and rev freely. I am in the habit of driving my cars until the reserve light comes on then going down to the local station. If the theory holds true, for a while, I should see an increase on the trip odometer as the miles rack up for similar type driving. My wife and I are both 1173's so we should be able to start testing soon....the cars are to be used for urban/suburban transport ie. groceries, hardware store etc.

Fred, I'll stick this one and clean up. Those posting, please try to be accurate...and more important - consistent - how you report MPGs. Since I don't have a smart yet and don't know how they fill, I'll still offer this rule of thumb: Pump the gas on the slowest knotch, and let the nozzle click off on its own. Generally, don't squeeze more gas in as this will led to tank to tank differences.

First tankful Store was Pride, 93 octane I work in the City of Springfield in the Connecticut river valley and live in the hills east of the city. Have not put a tire gage on so the air pressure is as delivered (?) will have to check as well as get that pesky inspection sticker I forgot. Did my best to vary engine speed and for me, way gentle. cold all week below freezing...
283.5 miles 7.281 gal. 38.9 mpg can live with that
karl
265 miles 7.4 gal. 35.8 mpg

Second fill up. MPG for all gas purchased, all miles driven. Costco 91 last fill was 3.179/gal.

522 miles 14.5 gallons. 36 mpg. City driving, some freeway, daily 3 mile hill climb home, daily 3 mile coast downhill from home. 50/50 one or two passengers.

I've been driving fairly conservative at have 620 miles on the car so far. Filled up 2 times. First 7.792 gallons and second 7.72 gallons at a Shell station using 93 Octane. I am averaing 37.95 mpg. I've been using the manual mode probably 70% of my driving. Most roads are flat with the exception of a couple hills going to and from work. But here in North Texas the average speed limit is 40 - 45 mph. So I guess the helps the mpg somewhat.
