do not let them replace with a 'universal programmable' sensor, the factory ones are 433.9 mhz (or something like that) so the programmable ones won't work right.

Can someone show me a link to a replacement TPMS unit I can install? The valve core is stuck in the valve stem so the service pack wont work.


Or I guess lmk if the service pack eliminates the concern about the stuck valve stem.

Wow this is difficult. I have an 08 smart fortwo. Are the TPMS units the same for all years? Some say 2014 & newer.

Service pack should be all you need. Had to replace all 4 valve stems on my 2013. Service packs were of the type used on Chrysler vehicles. Done by a local shop.

What you need are the following items:

Shrader 20016 - TPMS service kit
Shrader 20020 - valve stem

Individually, these parts run under $2 each. Available through RockAuto, Autozone, etc

Ok Ok so in the end it cost me $7 and was a real piece of cake job. I just got the service pack from pep boys.


Didn't even have to remove the tire, just break the bead and push some wood block in to hold it away.
