Found Loose Factory Harness with plug left of dash

Hey all,

Was taking a closer look at my car (451) 2015 today and I found a factory harness lead with a flat black plug attached sitting on left side of dash between door and top of dash near windshield.

Any idea what it might go to or be used for?

Yes actually I do know. When I got my smart, it came from a dealer who bought a bunch from a rental company. The dealership said that the software was not compatible with the models the rental company bought. So the dealership got a deal and so did I buying a 2015 (2014 451) with only 20 miles. The dealership had a bunch and I noticed this cable on one of them. I do believe that the original rental company attempted to install their hardware and left the wiring behind.
